Staff Powertrain Engineer (Advanced Engineering)

What you will do

• Lead the design and development of powertrain systems, including electric drive units, generator sets, and internal combustion engines.
• Drive powertrain development from advanced concepts through production launch and full product life.
• Break down complex technical challenges into implementable strategies and support junior engineers.
• Define technical standards, best practices, functional requirements, and project timelines.
• Develop clean-sheet solutions using first-principles engineering, academic research, and industry benchmarking.
• Work with technicians and suppliers to build prototypes for validation and communicate complex technical information across multidisciplinary teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline.
• At least 6 years of relevant industry experience, with an emphasis on mechanical design in automotive environments.
• Experience owning multiple powertrain systems from concept through full product life.
• Demonstrated experience with electric drive units and internal combustion engines.
• Strong understanding of powertrain manufacturing processes, 3D CAD, FEA, stress analysis, thermal simulation, and rotating-component design.
• Proven ability to deliver complex projects with multidisciplinary teams under tight deadlines.
