Software Engineer (Data Engineering)

Location: Must be located near an engineering hub in San Francisco, Sunnyvale, or Seattle, United States

Salary: $117,500–$172,800 USD annually, plus potential equity grants

What you will do

• Work with business stakeholders, engineering teams, product teams, and third parties to define and collect data requirements.
• Design and implement large-scale, high-volume data models and pipelines for data lakes and data warehouses.
• Develop data quality checks, QA processes, monitoring routines, and reliable ETL workflows.
• Manage data products that provide high-quality and trustworthy information.
• Improve the reliability and scalability of data infrastructure, automation, and engineering tools.
• Support onboarding and development of other engineers.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience in data engineering, business intelligence, or a similar role.
• Proficiency in Python or Java and experience using AI coding tools throughout the software development lifecycle.
• 3+ years of experience with ETL orchestration and workflow tools such as Airflow, Flink, Oozie, or Azkaban, using AWS or GCP.
• Strong knowledge of databases, SQL, distributed computing, and distributed data ecosystems such as Spark, Hive, Druid, or Presto.
• Experience with streaming technologies such as Kafka or Flink and database platforms including Snowflake, Redshift, or PostgreSQL.
• Must be located near one of the listed engineering hubs.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of reporting tools such as Tableau, Superset, or Looker.
• Experience analyzing and interpreting market and consumer information.
