2-Year Associate, Direct Lending (Summer 2027)

Location: Hybrid, New York, NY, United States

Base salary: $150,000 annually, plus potential discretionary incentive compensation and benefits.

Global investment firm operating a multi-product private markets platform, with a Direct Lending strategy focused on senior secured loans to U.S. and European companies.

What you will do

• Conduct industry research, competitive analysis, benchmarking, and comparable-company analysis.
• Build financial models with cash flow projections, valuation analysis, and downside scenarios.
• Support underwriting, transaction screening, structuring, term sheet development, and execution.
• Prepare investment memoranda and presentation materials for credit committee review.
• Monitor portfolio performance, covenant compliance, valuations, and periodic reporting.
• Support investor activities, sponsor coverage, sector updates, pipeline summaries, and transaction documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution; finance, economics, accounting, or a related field preferred.
• 2–3 years of experience in direct lending, leveraged finance, restructuring, credit investing, or M&A.
• Solid financial modeling and valuation skills with exceptional analytical ability and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Prior exposure to sponsor-backed transactions is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with AI solutions for diligence or deal execution workflows is advantageous.
