Software Engineer, Data Platform

Location: Must be located in San Francisco, Sunnyvale, Seattle, or New York, United States, or be willing to relocate to the Bay Area, Seattle, or New York.

Salary: $130,600–$192,000 USD annual base salary, plus potential equity grants.

What you will do

• Shape the vision and strategy for data platform frameworks supporting a rapidly growing business.
• Scale analytical platforms for increasing data volumes and use cases.
• Build and operate high-scale systems with a focus on reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with stakeholders building solutions on top of the data platform.
• Support a positive engineering culture and help develop other engineers.

Requirements

• B.S., M.S., or PhD. in Computer Science or an equivalent field.
• At least 2 years of industry experience in software engineering.
• Proficiency with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor across the software development lifecycle.
• Experience with big data domains including streaming, batch processing, data lake OLAP, and real-time analytics at scale.
• Experience with technologies such as Kafka, Flink, Spark, Cassandra, ClickHouse, and Iceberg.
• Experience building and improving big data infrastructure, governance, efficiency, scalability, and stability.

Nice to have

• Experience with open-source data technologies such as DataHub, Spark, Airflow, Kafka, or Flink.
