Principal Fullstack (Travel Tech)

Location: Remote in the United States; Austin, Texas is the company location. Some travel is required.

OleOle is building a global football-focused social network and an integrated sports commerce platform for tickets, hospitality, travel, payments, and related services.

What you will do

• Own the architecture and production development of OleOle Sport's consumer website and commerce platform.
• Build systems for football ticketing, VIP hospitality, hotels, travel packages, reservations, payments, fulfillment, cancellations, refunds, and reconciliation.
• Integrate inventory and APIs from multiple external suppliers using provider-agnostic abstraction layers.
• Design highly available systems that handle traffic spikes, high-value transactions, concurrency, retries, inventory holds, and partial failures.
• Work with payments, product, design, platform, and technical leadership teams while maintaining ownership of the platform.
• Recruit, mentor, and eventually lead a small engineering team while remaining deeply hands-on.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience at Staff, Principal, Lead, Architect, or equivalent level.
• Experience architecting and building high-scale consumer transactional, commerce, travel, ticketing, booking, reservation, marketplace, or e-commerce platforms.
• Hands-on full-stack experience with modern consumer web technologies and systems involving inventory, availability, pricing, orders, checkout, payments, and fulfillment.
• Experience integrating external suppliers, vendors, APIs, payment providers, or inventory sources.
• Strong knowledge of transactional reliability, security, authentication, observability, testing, CI/CD, and production operations.
• Must be able to work remotely from the United States and travel when required.

Nice to have

• Experience with React, Next.js, TypeScript, Java, Go, Rust, Python, PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, AWS, or Kubernetes.
• Experience with international and multilingual consumer products.
• Experience with large-scale SEO and programmatic SEO, including SSR, structured data, canonical URLs, hreflang, and indexation management.
• Production experience with AI/LLM systems, agents, recommendation systems, or AI-assisted content and data platforms.
• Understanding of football and international sports.
