TL;DR
Systems Development Engineer (Radar): Designing and developing advanced radar signal-processing algorithms and capabilities for target detection, tracking, and classification with an accent on real-time performance, RF systems, and radar-system modeling. Focus on implementing algorithms in software and hardware, leading field tests and data collection, and mentoring junior engineers.
Location: Full-time onsite in El Segundo, California, United States
Salary: $140,000–$280,000 base salary per year, excluding bonuses, equity, and benefits.

What you will do
- Design and develop radar signal-processing algorithms for target detection, tracking, and classification.
- Lead the development of new radar capabilities and radar modes with minimal guidance.
- Optimize algorithms for real-time performance and resource constraints.
- Implement algorithms in Python, MATLAB, C++, FPGAs, and DSPs as appropriate.
- Develop simulations and models, analyze radar data, and evaluate system performance.
- Plan and lead field tests, document technical findings, contribute to system requirements, and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Deep understanding of radar systems, radar modes, radar principles, and signal-processing algorithms.
- Systems Engineering experience with RF systems.
- Expertise in digital signal processing, algorithm development, and data analysis.
- Strong familiarity with Python or MATLAB and the ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to work full-time onsite in El Segundo, California.
Nice to have
- Graduate degree in STEM or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience with radar waveform design, matched filtering, Doppler processing, and clutter rejection.
- Experience with both sides of the Systems Engineering V.
- Experience with C++.
