Software Engineer, Core Platforms (Autonomous Transportation)

What you will do

• Develop and operate Kubernetes-based internal platforms, including scheduling, autoscaling, and platform tooling.
• Write and maintain infrastructure-as-code with tools such as Terraform and Ansible across on-premises, cloud, and Kubernetes environments.
• Build and support workflow platforms for data pipelines, simulation jobs, ML pipelines, and CI/CD.
• Deploy and operate self-hosted LLMs, agentic workflows, API gateways, and messaging or streaming systems.
• Create dashboards, alerts, logging integrations, documentation, and runbooks for platform users.
• Participate in cost optimization, on-call rotations, incident response, and post-incident reviews with senior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 0–2 years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, or SRE; internships, co-ops, and substantial personal or open-source projects count.
• Programming skills in at least one of Python, Go, Java, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Working knowledge of Linux, networking fundamentals, Git, and Docker containers.
• Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and own tasks from start to finish.
• Must work from Houston, TX.

Nice to have

• Hands-on exposure to Kubernetes, including EKS, GKE, AKS, RKE2/Rancher, kind, or minikube.
• Experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, Terraform, Pulumi, OpenTofu, or Ansible.
• Exposure to Argo Workflows, Airflow, LLM deployment, or agent-based automation.
• Familiarity with NATS JetStream, Kafka, Pulsar, RabbitMQ, Kong, APISIX, Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, or OpenTelemetry.
• Interest in cost-aware engineering and infrastructure efficiency.
