External Communications Manager

What you will do

• Develop and deliver external communications strategies aligned with business and brand objectives.
• Build thought leadership programmes, media narratives, and executive visibility initiatives.
• Manage relationships with journalists, industry influencers, and external PR and communications agencies.
• Translate complex technical, regulatory, and security topics into clear communications.
• Develop social media strategies and content calendars for LinkedIn, YouTube, and Instagram, including video-led campaigns and social listening.
• Apply SEO, GEO, and AEO principles, monitor AI-powered search visibility, and report on communications performance and audience engagement.

Requirements

• Experience in corporate communications, external communications, public relations, corporate affairs, or a similar discipline.
• Proven success delivering B2B communications and thought leadership programmes.
• Strong media relations, writing, editing, storytelling, agency management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience supporting senior leaders and executive communications.
• Experience measuring communications effectiveness through analytics and performance data.
• Knowledge of SEO and understanding of AI-driven search and discovery.

Nice to have

• Experience in a complex, regulated, technology, engineering, manufacturing, infrastructure, defence, or security-related environment.
• A proactive, innovative, and commercially minded approach to communications.
