Senior Machine Learning Engineer (AI)

Location: San Francisco, Sunnyvale, or Seattle; candidates must be located in or planning to relocate to one of these locations.

Base salary: $137,100–$201,600, $167,800–$246,800, or $203,500–$299,300 per year, depending on level and work location.

What you will do

• Build machine learning models for delivery and pickup ETA, merchant preparation-time estimation, and order release prediction.
• Develop deep learning models using large-scale spatiotemporal, marketplace, and behavioral signals.
• Apply reinforcement learning and optimization to logistics decisions, assignment strategies, and marketplace efficiency.
• Build AI-native experiences with large language models and vision-language models using photos, receipts, and verification flows to generate delivery quality signals.
• Design online experiments, production monitoring, and continuous model iteration.
• Partner with software engineering, product, data science, and platform teams to deploy machine learning capabilities at scale.

Requirements

• 5+ years of industry experience building and shipping production machine learning systems with measurable business impact.
• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree.
• Experience with production machine learning, deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, and distributed data processing tools such as Spark and Airflow.
• Strong Python and software engineering skills, with experience building, deploying, monitoring, and maintaining ML systems end to end.
• Deep expertise in at least one area: deep learning, reinforcement learning, optimization and operations research, LLMs, or VLMs.
• Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor.

• Hands-on experience with LLMs or VLMs.
