Senior Principal Mechanical Design Engineer (Medical Devices)

Location: Mounds View, Minnesota, United States; onsite with a minimum of 4 days per week in the office

Salary: $160,800–$241,200 per year, plus eligibility for the hirify.global Incentive Plan.

What you will do

• Own mechanical design activities for released electrophysiology therapy products and support product change implementation.
• Plan, develop, and execute testing, analysis, verification, and validation activities.
• Improve product performance, manufacturability, quality, cost, and supply continuity while maintaining design intent.
• Perform hands-on root-cause investigations in manufacturing facilities and laboratories, including studies of process parameters and physical samples.
• Coordinate technical work with program management, manufacturing, quality, suppliers, consultants, and global cross-functional stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers, delegate and review work, and prepare engineering reports and presentations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 10 years of relevant experience, master’s degree with at least 8 years, or PhD with at least 6 years.
• Experience designing complex mechanical systems and applying product risk management.
• Ability to work hands-on in R&D laboratories and manufacturing facilities and travel to suppliers and design or manufacturing sites as required.
• Experience with design controls, verification and validation, statistical methods, and science-based design decisions.
• Must work onsite in Mounds View, Minnesota, at least 4 days per week.
• U.S. work authorization is required; sponsorship is available for Principal-level roles and above.

Nice to have

• Medical device industry and high-volume manufacturing experience.
• Experience with issue investigation, CAPAs, 3D modeling, finite element analysis, and statistical design analysis.
• Process and test method development and validation experience.
• DRM Greenbelt certification or higher.
• Strong communication, collaboration, mentoring, and technical leadership skills.
