Control Room Technician / Television Studio

Location: Apple Valley News Now in Washington's Tri-Cities region, serving Yakima and the Tri-Cities communities. The role involves in-person station and studio operations.

Salary: $17.75–$19 per hour

What you will do

• Monitor and operate master control while following station procedures and FCC requirements.
• Direct or assist with live newscasts and maintain accurate broadcast schedules and logs.
• Operate studio cameras, graphics, and other television production equipment.
• Monitor on-air technical quality and troubleshoot technical or operational issues.
• Coordinate with News, Engineering, Programming, and other departments.
• Maintain focus, accuracy, and broadcast quality throughout the day.

Requirements

• Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new technology.
• Clear communication, sound judgment, and a solutions-focused approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment and manage shifting priorities.
• Basic math skills and the ability to lift and carry 40 pounds or more.
• Availability for flexible shifts and days of the week, including emergency station operations.
• Previous television production experience is helpful but not required; training is provided.
