Product Manager, Chemistry AI Science Factory

Location: Cambridge, MA, USA

Base salary: $140,000–$197,333 USD per year, with bonus potential and early-stage equity.

What you will do

• Set the product vision, roadmap, and capability priorities for the Chemistry AI Science Factory across molecular chemistry, small-molecule synthesis, targeted drug delivery, formulation, colloidal nanochemistry, and analytical systems.
• Translate commercial, scientific, and AI model needs into a prioritized roadmap with explicit trade-offs.
• Define scope, throughput, performance, and autonomy requirements that engineering teams can build against.
• Co-own the program charter, capital plan, resourcing, and delivery phasing with the Chemistry AISF Program Lead.
• Drive execution from concept through commissioning across science, engineering, automation, software, and AI.
• Own build-versus-buy and platform architecture decisions, and represent the product to executives, scientific leaders, partners, and customers.

Requirements

• MS, PhD, or equivalent experience in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials chemistry, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in product management, technical product ownership, or a related platform role delivering complex hardware and software systems.
• Working fluency in at least one Chemistry AI Science Factory domain, including the ability to discuss reaction workup and purification, analytical characterization, or nanoparticle formulation.
• Experience writing buildable requirements and making prioritization decisions with incomplete information.
• Experience leading through influence across science, engineering, software, and commercial teams.
• Strong written communication and experience producing charters, roadmaps, and requirements documents.

Nice to have

• Experience with automated synthesis platforms, inert-atmosphere liquid handling, or high-throughput formulation systems.
• Familiarity with closed-loop and self-driving laboratories, Bayesian optimization, active learning, or agentic experiment design.
• Experience with lab orchestration, scheduling software, instrument integration, or scientific data capture architecture.
• Background in small-molecule discovery, LNP and nucleic acid delivery, partner-funded platform programs, or capital equipment planning.
