Farsi Operational Language Analyst

What you will do

• Recover essential information from Farsi audio and graphic-language materials.
• Transcribe and translate complex Farsi source material into grammatical English.
• Analyze and summarize the gist of sophisticated foreign-language materials.
• Prepare and update operational working aids and databases of translated source material.
• Scan, sort, and categorize foreign-language materials.
• Perform quality-control reviews of translations and transcripts and may support or lead teams of linguists.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required for consideration as a Junior Language Analyst.
• Farsi proficiency at ILR/DLPT Level 2 or Level 3 is required, depending on analyst level.
• At least 2 years of full-time transcription, translation, or related language-focused cryptologic experience for junior level; 4 years for intermediate; 10 years for senior; or 15 years for expert level.
• High school diploma or GED for junior level; associate degree or equivalent additional experience for intermediate level; bachelor's degree or equivalent additional experience for senior and expert levels.
• Senior and expert levels require experience reviewing ILR 3 audio or graphic foreign-language material; expert level requires three years of such quality-control experience and recent Level 3 listening and reading performance.
• Superior professional competency in previous assignments; military cryptologic linguist experience is preferred.
