Staff Frontend Engineer (Next.js)

Location: Fully remote, but candidates must already be based in Portugal. Portuguese or EU citizenship or a valid work permit is required. EU candidates interested in relocating to Portugal may also be considered.

What you will do

• Architect complex Next.js applications for high-traffic web products.
• Build reusable frontend architecture and internal tooling.
• Work with SSR, SSG, ISR, RSC, caching, and the App Router.
• Improve Core Web Vitals, SEO, and accessibility.
• Apply shift-left testing practices and maintain rigorous automated tests.

Requirements

• 9+ years of engineering experience with Next.js and Vanilla JavaScript.
• Strong knowledge of SSR, SSG, ISR, RSC, caching, and the App Router.
• Experience architecting frontend systems for high-traffic web products.
• Fluent English at B2 level.
• Must be based in Portugal and hold Portuguese or EU citizenship or a valid work permit.

Nice to have

• Experience building reusable frontend architecture and tooling for internal AI development.
• EU candidates willing to relocate to Portugal.
