Compliance Officer - Global Markets Compliance Advisory (Commodities)

Location: London, UK; hybrid working with at least two days per week, or 40% of working time, at an office site; role based on the Markets trading floor

What you will do

• Provide day-to-day compliance advisory support to the Commodities business on regulatory, conduct and transactional matters.
• Advise on FCA rules, MiFID II, MAR, EMIR, trading venue obligations, Swap Dealer requirements and relevant market standards.
• Support new products, business initiatives and strategic change programmes by identifying and managing regulatory risks.
• Monitor regulatory developments and emerging risks, providing guidance and briefings to stakeholders and senior management.
• Partner with Surveillance, Control Room and Compliance Monitoring teams on compliance risk coverage and escalation.
• Support regulatory enquiries, thematic reviews and assurance activities, deliver training, and promote strong conduct standards.

Requirements

• Compliance Advisory experience supporting commodities markets, or broader Global Markets experience with demonstrable commodities knowledge.
• Knowledge of wholesale market regulation, including FCA requirements, MiFID II, MAR, EMIR, trading venue rules, Swap Dealer obligations and relevant industry codes.
• Ability to provide credible advice, challenge and oversight to front-office businesses and senior stakeholders.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and experience influencing senior business leaders.
• Sound regulatory judgement, with the ability to apply complex requirements to commercial activities and strategic initiatives.
• Independent and proactive approach, including the ability to identify emerging risks and drive effective outcomes.

• Experience advising Commodities businesses.
