Head of Compliance Advisory and Policy (AI Governance)

What you will do

• Lead FCA compliance oversight across investments, strategic initiatives, data and technology developments, SMCR, policies, training, awareness, and governance.
• Provide regulatory advice on strategic change, new business initiatives, acquisitions, partnerships, and transformation programmes.
• Own and maintain Group Compliance Policies, including governance, approval, implementation, and practical guidance.
• Advise on investment products, portfolio and discretionary management, product governance, conduct risk, market abuse, conflicts of interest, and customer outcomes.
• Lead regulatory permissions, regulatory engagement, consultations, policy papers, examinations, and industry forum participation.
• Build and develop a capable Compliance Advisory team while promoting accountability, technical excellence, and succession planning.

Requirements

• Significant senior compliance experience within a regulated financial services organisation.
• Deep knowledge of UK financial services regulation, governance frameworks, investment management, asset management, and fund management.
• Experience providing strategic regulatory advice to senior executives and Boards, and leading regulatory change and policy development programmes.
• Strong understanding of information security, operational resilience, technology governance, and AI-related regulatory requirements.
• Experience managing regulatory permissions, regulatory engagement, consultations, and policy papers.
• Exceptional stakeholder management, influencing, written communication, Board paper, and executive briefing skills.

Nice to have

• Previous SMF or Approved Person experience.
• ICA Diploma or equivalent compliance qualification.
• Legal qualification or regulatory policy background.
• Experience working directly with regulators or industry bodies.
