Tech Lead Manager (Autonomous Driving AI)

Location: Sunnyvale, California, USA; hybrid working model with in-person collaboration in the office, remote work, and hands-on work in vehicle workshops and labs.

Salary: $370,040–$394,900 per year.

What you will do

• Lead a team of up to five engineers while remaining deeply involved in technical development.
• Diagnose high-impact issues observed on the road and resolve their root causes through data and model iteration.
• Own data recipes, model architecture, evaluation, and release readiness for the driving model.
• Write code, run experiments, and set technical priorities for Robotaxi driving performance.
• Partner with specialists across the business to resolve model and vehicle interface issues.
• Scale driving performance across cities and vehicle platforms while meeting performance and compliance KPIs.

Requirements

• Previous experience managing engineers while staying hands-on technically.
• Strong Python skills and practical experience with model and data iteration.
• Experience delivering deployed production machine learning models or productionizing ML systems.
• Experience improving live systems incrementally through production-focused development.
• Ability to work in a hybrid setup from Sunnyvale, California.

Nice to have

• Experience shipping and iterating on ML for robotics, autonomous vehicles, or embodied AI.
• Experience with end-to-end driving models or large-scale model training.
