Senior Software Engineer (.NET)

Taxwell is a tax technology company whose TaxAct platform provides digital and downloadable tax filing products, guidance, and customer support.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and test frontend and backend features across tax filing systems.
• Debug application issues and improve performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and delivery decisions.
• Collaborate with product, design, and QA to scope and deliver reliable features.
• Write production-quality, testable code and use AI-assisted development tools where appropriate.
• Build deep knowledge of the tax filing domain, system architecture, and codebase.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong experience developing applications with .NET.
• Experience with Vue and/or Angular, plus willingness to learn and maintain C++ applications.
• Familiarity with Visual Studio, SQL Server, and Azure DevOps.
• Experience building, debugging, and maintaining production systems.
• Ability to independently solve complex problems, contribute to design discussions, and participate in code reviews.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience working in Agile or Scrum teams.
• Experience in regulated domains such as tax, fintech, or healthcare.
