Contract Specialist

Location: Hybrid, Arlington, Virginia, United States; one day per week on-site at a Department of Defense research agency.

What you will do

• Prepare and manage terms and conditions for Department of Defense Research & Development contracts under FAR Part 35 and Other Transactions.
• Assist with contract negotiations and finalization while ensuring regulatory and contractual compliance.
• Draft and process contract modifications as project requirements evolve.
• Analyze procurement policies, procedures, and regulations to improve contract performance and compliance.
• Evaluate proposed costs and prices for fairness and reasonableness.
• Prepare and maintain contract files in accordance with FAR, DFARS, and related regulations.

Requirements

• Active Department of Defense security clearance required.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• 1–6 years of experience in government procurement, including cost proposals, contract negotiation, modifications, administration, subcontracting, or cost and price analysis.
• Experience with government or commercial procurement, contract administration, negotiation, and cost and pricing analysis.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement with one day per week on-site in Arlington, Virginia.

Nice to have

• Department of Defense, CON-IT, or Research & Development contracting experience.
• Experience with Other Transaction Agreements, grants, or cooperative agreements.
