Subcontract Manager (Aerospace and Defense)

Location: Plano, Texas, United States; office or hybrid environment

What you will do

• Direct the full lifecycle of complex subcontracts for specialized materials, equipment, and services.
• Develop subcontract specifications, work statements, terms and conditions, bid packages, and proposal evaluation criteria.
• Evaluate high-value subcontractor proposals and negotiate price, schedule, and contractual provisions.
• Administer FFP, T&M, CPFF, CPIF, and other complex contract types.
• Monitor subcontractor performance, maintain contract records, and recommend new subcontractors.
• Collaborate with leadership, ensure FAR and DFARS compliance, and mentor subcontract management staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 8+ years of related experience, or 12+ years of experience without a degree.
• Master-level proficiency in subcontract management principles and methodologies.
• Experience with FAR Part 15 subcontracts and cost or price analysis.
• Expert knowledge of business system requirements and their applicability to contracts.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance and U.S. citizenship are required.
• Strong communication, analytical, leadership, negotiation, and strategic recommendation skills.

• Leadership experience in the aerospace and defense industry.
• Experience with procurement and subcontract management software.
• Experience with Earned Value Management processes.
• Advanced supply chain or federal contract management certification.
• Master’s degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field.
