Recovery Coordinator (Substance Misuse)

Location: East Sussex, including travel to rural hubs; applicants must hold a full UK driving licence, have access to a vehicle with appropriate business insurance, and already have the right to work in the UK.

Salary: £28,557.79–£32,802.41 per year, pro rata if part time.

What you will do

• Coordinate personalised recovery journeys for people affected by drug and alcohol use.
• Complete comprehensive assessments and develop tailored recovery and support plans.
• Manage a caseload and provide structured one-to-one and group-based interventions.
• Support engagement with treatment options, services, and wider recovery opportunities.
• Manage risk, reduce harm, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
• Maintain accurate records and reporting while supporting resilience, independence, and long-term recovery.

Requirements

• Experience managing caseloads and supporting people with complex needs.
• Strong understanding of substance misuse, harm reduction, and recovery approaches.
• Knowledge of mental health interventions and best practice.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, organisation, prioritisation, and deadline management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a person-centred environment.
• Enhanced DBS check, full UK driving licence, access to a suitable vehicle, and existing right to work in the UK are required.

Nice to have

• Experience in substance misuse, health and social care, housing, rehabilitation, criminal justice, prison, children and young people’s, hospital, or community health services.
