Cyber Hunt Team Leader (Cybersecurity)

Salary: $140,000–$160,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead proactive threat hunting missions, advanced analytics, incident response, and persistent hunt operations across federal networks.
• Direct a hunt team and coordinate with SOC analysts, cyber threat intelligence teams, government teams, and agency stakeholders.
• Develop threat hypotheses, detection logic, Indicators of Compromise knowledge bases, playbooks, methodologies, and standard operating procedures.
• Lead Purple Team exercises and threat emulation activities to validate and improve defensive capabilities.
• Oversee network analysis, network device integrity, and hunt capabilities across network, endpoint, and cloud environments.
• Present threat intelligence, risk recommendations, and technical findings to senior government officials.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and remote residence within close proximity to the National Capital Region are required.
• 10+ years of cybersecurity experience focused on threat hunting, incident response, and adversary tracking.
• Active Public Trust 6c clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one.
• At least one of CISSP, GCIH, GCFA, or CEH certifications.
• Hands-on experience with EDR/NDR platforms, SIEM tools, the MITRE ATT&CK framework, and threat emulation.
• Experience leading threat hunting teams in a SOC environment and communicating technical findings to technical and executive audiences.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, information technology, computer science, or a related field.
• CISM, GCTI, GCTD, or MITRE ATT&CK Defender certification.
• Experience with NIST RMF, NIST SP 800-53, FedRAMP, continuous monitoring, and POA&M remediation.
• Experience with federal civilian agency programs, ICS/OT and cloud threat hunting, or cyber threat intelligence platforms.
• Experience with DevSecOps pipelines, vulnerability management tools, and cloud-native security technologies.
