Associate Cybersecurity Analyst - Junior (Cybersecurity)

Location: US - Ashburn, VA; at least 3 days in the office required. The role operates in rotating 12-hour shifts supporting a 24x7x365 security operations center and requires 5–10% travel.

Salary: $84,500–$131,400 USD per year, with potential bonus and equity eligibility.

What you will do

• Manage cybersecurity incidents through identification, containment, eradication, and response documentation.
• Perform deep-dive analysis of systems, accounts, and networks to determine incident root cause and impact.
• Conduct proactive threat hunting and develop detection rules to improve incident identification.
• Collaborate with Cyber Defense, Engineering, and other technology teams during security investigations.
• Develop and maintain incident response playbooks and runbooks.
• Support cybersecurity projects and process improvements that strengthen hirify.global's security posture.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or 3+ years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in an enterprise incident response team or security operations center.
• Professional experience in cybersecurity or computer network defense.
• Experience with GenAI and agent automation.
• Knowledge of operating systems, network services, TCP/IP, packet analysis, routing, network security, and cloud security best practices.
• Ability to work in the Ashburn office at least 3 days per week and cover scheduled weekends and holidays.

Nice to have

• Security certifications such as CISSP, GCIH, GCIA, GCED, GCFA, or CySA+.
• Expertise in intrusion and malware analysis, web application security, or security engineering.
• Experience with SIEM, antivirus, WAF, IDS, NetFlow, packet analyzers, and endpoint detection and response tools.
• Understanding of web application vulnerabilities, DDoS techniques, and mitigation mechanisms.
