Sr. Software Architect (Data)

hirify.global operates a revenue compliance portfolio serving more than 4,500 government agencies and processing over $200 million in monthly transactions across tax, payments, auditing, short-term rental, and legacy compliance products.

What you will do

• Define canonical data models, shared entity definitions, ownership rules, identity resolution, and master data management practices across the portfolio.
• Own warehouse, ingestion, pipeline, modeling, serving, lineage, observability, data quality, and reporting architecture.
• Design data interchange, schemas, versioning, migration mappings, and reconciliation evidence across existing and future platforms.
• Architect coexistence between legacy and unified platforms while maintaining consistency during extended migrations.
• Define retention, archival, storage-tiering, retrieval, and application behavior for long-lived regulated tax records.
• Provide technical leadership, reference architectures, roadmaps, mentoring, governance, and architecture decision records across seven engineering teams.

Requirements

• 12+ years in data engineering and architecture, including 5+ years in an architect or principal-level data architecture role.
• Experience consolidating multiple systems with incompatible data models into a shared canonical model and driving adoption through implementation.
• Deep expertise in master data management, enterprise data modeling, data domains, entity definitions, and identity resolution.
• Strong command of modern warehouse and pipeline architecture, including ingestion, orchestration, serving, lineage, reliability, data quality, and cost management.
• Experience with archival and lifecycle strategies for data that must remain complete and retrievable under regulatory retention requirements.
• Cloud-native data architecture experience and the ability to work with AWS, including S3 storage tiering, Redshift, and relational databases.

Nice to have

• Experience in government technology, tax, financial services, or another regulated domain.
• Multi-tenant SaaS experience and single-tenant to multi-tenant consolidation.
• Experience establishing architecture decision records and governance from scratch.
• Experience designing data foundations for AI or agentic workloads.
• Experience with entity-attribute-value models or platforms consolidated through mergers and acquisitions.
