Senior Staff Accountant (NetSuite/ASC 606)

What you will do

• Own revenue recognition configurations, arrangements, allocations, and schedules in NetSuite Advanced Revenue Management.
• Apply ASC 606 to complex CRO and pharmaceutical contracts involving milestones, pass-through costs, upfront fees, and multiple service elements.
• Prepare month-end journal entries, reconciliations, variance analyses, and supporting schedules for deferred revenue, accrued revenue, unbilled receivables, accounts receivable, revenue, and COGS.
• Manage accounts receivable, billing, collections analysis, accounts payable workflows, procurement approvals, and vendor payment controls using RAMP.
• Coordinate year-end financial statement audits and prepare audit schedules, PBC materials, system reports, financial statements, disclosures, and workpapers.
• Partner with finance, clinical operations, project management, commercial, FP&A, legal, NetSuite administrators, and external partners on contract changes, system improvements, and process optimization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and a required CPA license.
• 5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in CRO, biotech, pharmaceutical, life sciences, clinical research, healthcare services, or another services-based business.
• Advanced hands-on NetSuite experience, including direct experience with the Advanced Revenue Management module.
• Strong knowledge of ASC 606 for complex, multi-element service contracts, including milestone payments, pass-through costs, and upfront fees.
• Experience with RAMP or a comparable spend-management and accounts-payable automation platform, plus direct experience supporting or managing an independent financial statement audit.
• Strong analytical, reconciliation, communication, cross-functional collaboration, and process-improvement skills in a scaling environment.
