IT Software Engineer - DBA (PostgreSQL/SQL Server)

Location: Hybrid work with 24 hours per week in the office; external candidates must reside within 30 miles of Madison, WI; Lincoln, NE; or Centennial, CO. United States citizenship and government security clearance are required.

Salary: $56,775–$158,541 annually

What you will do

• Design enterprise-wide, cross-functional software solutions with architects, engineers, infrastructure specialists, and business analysts.
• Translate business requirements into technical requirements, design documents, and technical specifications.
• Administer PostgreSQL and SQL Server databases, including instance builds, backups, scripting, and maintenance.
• Monitor application performance, debug existing code, and provide post-implementation support.
• Perform database performance tuning and index maintenance in clustered environments.
• Participate in on-call support and evaluate emerging technologies for business solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification focused on Microsoft database technologies.
• Professional experience working as a database administrator.
• Strong knowledge of current PostgreSQL and SQL Server versions and administration.
• Experience developing and implementing data design models for enterprise applications.
• Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle and strong critical-thinking and teamwork skills.
• Ability to obtain United States government security clearance; United States citizenship is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with agile or iterative delivery approaches.
• Knowledge of NIST compliance.
