ML Research Engineer/Scientist

What you will do

• Develop machine learning models and algorithms for molecular modeling and design in hirify.global Lab.
• Design model architectures, training objectives, and high-quality datasets for drug discovery tasks.
• Collaborate with ML researchers, chemistry and biology experts, and software engineers.
• Build rigorous benchmarks and validation pipelines connecting offline metrics with real-world outcomes.
• Drive research projects from direction-setting and experimentation through production deployment.

Requirements

• Extensive publication record in top-tier ML or life-science conferences and journals, including venues such as NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, or Nature Methods.
• Strong experience designing deep learning architectures, running rigorous experiments, and performing careful analysis.
• Hands-on experience with PyTorch and the scientific Python ecosystem, including NumPy, SciPy, and Pandas.
• Experience contributing to and maintaining deep learning codebases with strong standards for engineering quality, reproducibility, and testing.
• Ability to work in London or remotely under the role's remote and in-office arrangement.

Nice to have

• Experience training, scaling, and evaluating large models on applied real-world problems.
• Experience building evaluation suites and diagnosing model failure modes.
• Experience in interdisciplinary scientific environments spanning ML, biology, chemistry, and physics.
• Familiarity with computational biology and chemistry tools, data formats, and workflows.
