Cybersecurity & AI Governance Trainer (Freelance)

Location: Remote in Portugal with occasional in-person sessions in Portugal; flexible, session-based schedule

What you will do

• Design and deliver introductory, practitioner, and deep-dive cybersecurity, AI, and data training sessions.
• Cover Shadow AI, Cybersecurity Essentials, AI Governance and Acceptable Use, ISO 27001, and NIS2 readiness.
• Develop presentations, case studies, checklists, templates, practical exercises, learning objectives, and session agendas.
• Adapt training for business, management, and technical audiences, delivering sessions online and in person.
• Collect participant feedback and continuously improve training content.
• Identify client needs that may lead to assessment or consulting engagements.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in information security, GRC, or security management.
• Proven experience as a trainer, facilitator, or awareness programme lead.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 27001, NIS2, NIST, and GDPR.
• Practical experience in risk management, incident management, and business continuity and disaster recovery planning.
• Knowledge of AI governance, AI security risks, Shadow AI, the EU AI Act, data governance, information classification, and Privacy by Design.
• Fluency in Portuguese and English, with excellent presentation and facilitation skills for online and in-person delivery.

Nice to have

• ISO 27001 Lead Implementer or Auditor, CISM, CISSP, CIPP/E, ISO 42001, or trainer certification such as CCP/CAP.
