Network Strategy & Architecture Consultant (Telecoms)

Location: United Kingdom, with the team based across the London head office and Cambridge Global Innovation & Technology Centre; daily working locations vary according to client needs.

What you will do

• Advise enterprise and operational telecommunications clients on network strategy and architecture.
• Support network transformation, systems and architecture design, managed service procurement, and innovative technology initiatives.
• Assure network designs and explain network design principles and benefits strategically rather than preparing low-level configurations.
• Develop recommendations and insights using analytical, creative, and abstract thinking.
• Present to and engage with strategic client decision-makers while contributing to multidisciplinary consulting teams.
• Manage specific deliverables and contribute to the development of the Networks team.

Requirements

• Strong academic background.
• Professional telecommunications experience in a role such as network designer, network manager, or network architect.
• Knowledge of or experience with software-defined networking, zero trust network access, and public cloud networking.
• Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to present strategic recommendations to clients.
• Adaptability, independent thinking, and the ability to learn new subject areas quickly.

Nice to have

• Experience with BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, BGP EVPN VXLAN, IPsec, MACsec, 802.1X/EAP, or WiFi 802.11.
• Firewall management and design experience with platforms such as Palo Alto, Cisco, or Fortinet.
• Knowledge of data centre network architectures, micro-segmentation, or fabric overlays.
