Sr. Software Engineering Manager (Pre/Post)

What you will do

• Lead pre-processing and post-processing engineering teams for simulation software, including model setup, solver integration, results visualization, and workflow automation.
• Own technical execution and delivery of MSC Apex pre- and post-processing features across product roadmaps and release milestones.
• Guide architecture, design reviews, feasibility assessments, technical risk analysis, and implementation strategies for complex CAE workflows.
• Manage planning, sprint execution, resource allocation, dependencies, and delivery commitments across multiple releases.
• Resolve customer escalations, production defects, performance bottlenecks, and workflow failures.
• Mentor engineers and technical leads while supporting platform scalability, API enablement, cloud readiness, and simulation ecosystem integrations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer-aided design, mechanical engineering, or a related engineering field.
• 20+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in CAE, CAD, engineering simulation, computational mechanics, or scientific software.
• Experience managing pre-processing and post-processing product areas, including geometry preparation, meshing, solver integration, results processing, visualization, and workflow automation.
• Strong C++ development background for large-scale desktop engineering applications, plus familiarity with Python scripting, automation, APIs, and workflow customization.
• Experience with CAE platforms such as MSC Apex, Patran, Adams, ANSA, HyperMesh, SimLab, Abaqus/CAE, ANSYS Mechanical, or LS-PrePost.
• Strong people leadership, communication, analytical, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Cursor.
