Engineer II (Environmental Sustainability)

Location: US - California - Thousand Oaks; Flex Commuter / Hybrid. May telecommute.

Annual salary: $97,109–$131,383 per year, plus potential bonus, stock, and benefits.

What you will do

• Support environmental sustainability metrics covering energy, carbon, water, and waste across global sites.
• Provide sustainability and environmental performance support for refrigeration and cold room projects in GMP-regulated environments.
• Review project specifications, load calculations, controls, and performance data for energy efficiency and sustainability goals.
• Collect refrigeration asset, operational, and emissions data and analyze energy-efficiency and decarbonization opportunities.
• Prepare sustainability analyses, reports, measurement and verification materials, ENERGY STAR submissions, and audit documentation.
• Support external sustainability initiatives and electric vehicle infrastructure projects through data analysis, documentation, and coordination.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering or a related field.
• At least one year of experience in the offered role or an engineering-related occupation.
• Experience supporting sustainability, energy-efficiency, environmental engineering, water reduction, and emissions initiatives in GMP-regulated or industrial manufacturing environments.
• Experience with industrial refrigeration, including CO (R744) and other low-GWP refrigerants.
• Experience with measurement and verification, sustainability reporting, Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, financial justification analyses, and third-party energy performance audits.
• Measurement & Verification Professional certification: CMVP-IT or CMVP required.

Nice to have

• Experience with ESG and Carbon Disclosure Project reporting.
• Experience with Enterprise ChatGPT modeling for business and engineering analysis.
• Experience using PI Enterprise to analyze energy, water, and operational data.
