Location: San Carlos, CA, United States. Onsite, with a minimum of 4 days per week onsite.

Salary: $129,000–$151,000 per year, plus benefits and equity.

What you will do

  • Design, program, build, test, validate, deploy, and maintain automated analytical methods on Hamilton liquid handling platforms.
  • Program and troubleshoot automated methods in Hamilton VENUS, including robotic hardware, liquid handling, labware, and system integration issues.
  • Automate, execute, optimize, and improve multiplex immunoassay methods, including transferring manual assays to automated workflows.
  • Perform routine and non-routine analysis of release, development, and stability samples using multiple analytical techniques.
  • Support comparability assessments, method development, qualification, technology transfer, and collaboration with external laboratories and manufacturing CMOs.
  • Prepare and review assay protocols, SOPs, automated method files, scripts, reports, study plans, and technical summaries.

Requirements

  • Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related discipline: PhD with 0–2 years, MS with 5+ years, or BS with 8+ years of relevant industry experience; equivalent combinations may be considered.
  • Hands-on experience developing, programming, optimizing, and validating automated liquid-handling workflows; Hamilton VENUS is strongly preferred.
  • Programming and scripting experience with Hamilton VENUS, Python, VBA, or equivalent, including independent troubleshooting of robotic and liquid-handling errors.
  • Experience developing, optimizing, and executing ELISA or multiplex immunoassays, preferably MSD, with the ability to troubleshoot assay performance and interpret data.
  • Experience with method transfer, method bridging, comparability assessments, study design, statistical analysis, and technical documentation.
  • The role is laboratory-based and requires onsite work in San Carlos, CA at least 4 days per week.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Tecan, Beckman, or comparable automated liquid-handling systems.
  • Experience analyzing proteins, polysaccharide conjugates, vaccines, or adjuvant-containing formulations.
  • Experience with plate-based assays such as Lowry and BCA.
  • Senior Research Associates with strong laboratory automation experience are encouraged to apply.
