Software Developer — Get Paid to Build Your Own Project with an AI Coding Assistant

hirify.global runs a project-based program where developers build their own software projects with an AI coding assistant and provide evaluations that improve AI-assisted development tools.

What you will do

• Bring and develop a personally owned side project, tool, or open-source library.
• Build features, fix bugs, refactor code, and write documentation with an AI coding assistant.
• Compare two assistant responses at each step and explain which response is better.
• Work in your own environment with your own tools and schedule.
• Provide ratings and written feedback as part of the project deliverables.

Requirements

• Own a software project personally and solely, stored in a git repository.
• Comfort working in the terminal and with git-based workflows.
• Use macOS, Linux, or Windows with WSL2.
• Write clear, honest evaluations and work reliably and independently.
• During sessions, do not use passwords, API keys, or other people's personal data; ratings must be written without AI assistance.
• Open-source maintainers are welcome, provided the project has an approved license.

Nice to have

• Experience maintaining open-source projects.
• A project with additional maintainers, subject to eligibility confirmation.
