Senior Systems Engineer (Oil-Free Centrifugal Compressors)

Location: Sidney, Ohio, USA; hybrid with at least three days per week in the office and 25% domestic travel

What you will do

• Serve as the customer-facing technical expert for oil-free centrifugal compressors, controls, and variable speed drives.
• Integrate compressor solutions into strategic HVAC/R OEM systems and represent hirify.global during customer projects.
• Test and troubleshoot controls and variable speed drives with customer engineering teams and laboratory resources.
• Provide application samples, technical specifications, troubleshooting guidelines, and technical training.
• Collaborate with power electronics, engineering, laboratories, marketing, product management, sales, and planning teams.
• Support customers and internal teams through clear written and verbal technical communication.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or an equivalent field.
• At least five years of experience with oil-free compressors or commercial HVAC systems, preferably chillers; an associate degree may be considered with at least ten years of relevant experience.
• Experience with PLCs, wiring, variable speed drives, and their effects on compressor and system performance.
• Strong oral and written communication skills for training, technical support, and problem-solving.
• Proven cross-functional collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States is required; visa sponsorship is not provided.

• Experience integrating and troubleshooting oil-free centrifugal compressors, controls, and variable speed drives.
• Experience developing and troubleshooting HVAC controls and variable speed drives.
• Customer-facing technical or sales experience.
• Experience operating chillers or working with data center applications.
