Product-Minded Fullstack Engineer (AI)

Location: New York, on-site

Target annual salary: $180,000–$220,000 USD, excluding equity.

hirify.global builds a loyalty and payments platform connecting restaurants with their customers through customizable restaurant loyalty tools and a consumer dining app.

What you will do

• Build the conversational chat experience used by diners.
• Own the agent runtime end to end, including tools, context management, streaming, and retrieval.
• Develop model-callable tools and tests that verify their behavior.
• Measure and improve answer quality through evaluations, tracing, observability, and real user feedback.
• Improve restaurant recommendations and evolve the product from answering questions to completing tasks.
• Ship reliable, cost-efficient experiences for mobile networks in collaboration with product and design.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience shipping production software and owning features end to end.
• Ability to debug across streaming clients, application code, SQL, and service boundaries.
• Deep experience with LLM application development, including tool calling, context management, retrieval, and streaming.
• Strong React and TypeScript skills, fluency in Python, and willingness to work with Kotlin and Spring.
• Solid Postgres and data modeling skills, with strong judgment about retrieval quality.
• Product judgment, high ownership, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to build trustworthy, fast agent experiences.

Nice to have

• Experience with agent evaluations and LLM observability tools such as Langfuse, Braintrust, or LangSmith.
• Experience with pgvector, PostGIS, native mobile AI surfaces, frontier model APIs, or prompt caching.
• Background in restaurants, hospitality, travel, or recommendation products with real-world consequences.
• Experience with Datadog, Amplitude, LaunchDarkly, AWS, or Terraform.
