Senior Analytics Engineer (Finance)

Location: San Diego, California; on-site

Salary: $120,000–$190,000 per year, plus bonus, benefits, and equity for regular full-time employees.

What you will do

• Shape the analytics roadmap with Finance and GTM leaders and prioritize high-impact data products.
• Build governed datasets and semantic models for reporting, planning, scenario analysis, and strategic decisions.
• Establish modeling, metric, architecture, quality, and maintainability standards across domains.
• Develop conversational analytics and AI-enabled workflows on Databricks, including Databricks Genie.
• Own business-facing reconciliation and acceptance while partnering with data engineering on reliable delivery.
• Mentor engineers and Finance partners and strengthen self-service capabilities.

Requirements

• Substantial experience in analytics engineering, BI engineering, or financial data modeling, with advanced SQL and production data product delivery.
• Experience leading ambiguous, cross-functional work from problem definition through adoption.
• Proficiency with AI coding assistants and sound judgment when reviewing generated work.
• Practical experience with AI-assisted analytics; Databricks Genie experience is preferred.
• Strong architectural judgment, disciplined development practices, mentoring experience, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Ability to work on-site in San Diego, California.

Nice to have

• Experience with Databricks, Python, semantic layers, or AI application development.
• Experience supporting FP&A, GTM, Strategic Finance, Accounting, or Program Finance.
• Familiarity with enterprise planning, financial controls, or high-growth business environments.
