What you will do

• Lead the transition from broadcast-focused newsrooms to multi-platform newsrooms through daily example, training, and content development.
• Manage the assignment desk during regular weekend shifts and drive distinctive weekend news coverage.
• Develop content strategies for the station and pitch local and trending stories during morning meetings.
• Research, interview, and analyze information to produce complete and accurate news stories.
• Write and edit stories for the web, social media, and other digital platforms.
• Use Facebook, X, Instagram, and YourCentralValley.com to engage viewers and strengthen brand recognition.

Requirements

• Degree in journalism.
• Experience with a daily newspaper or news website.
• Proficiency in Associated Press style, Adobe Creative Suite, and WordPress.
• Expert understanding of Facebook, X, Instagram, and other social media platforms.
• Ability to maintain journalistic integrity, production quality, cooperation, and a positive working environment.
• Live working web samples or print pages are preferred.
