Postdoctoral Fellow(s) and Research Assistant(s) in AI-enabled Orthopaedic Research

The Chinese University of Hong Kong hosts a multidisciplinary team conducting translational research in AI-enabled orthopaedic and surgical technologies.

What you will do

• Support or lead grant proposals, research manuscripts, and conference abstracts.
• Develop or contribute to augmented-reality surgical navigation, AI-assisted arthroscopic planning, medical imaging diagnostics, and LLM-based surgical planning systems.
• Coordinate with internal and external collaborators to facilitate project execution.
• Assist with software development and testing, clinical data handling, and study documentation according to the role level.
• Contribute to project reporting, milestone tracking, and presentation preparation.

Requirements

• Postdoctoral applicants must hold a PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related discipline.
• Postdoctoral applicants should have experience in research proposal writing, peer-reviewed publications, and project management.
• Research Assistant applicants must hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
• Research Assistants should demonstrate strong interest in academic research, medical technologies, and AI applications, with the ability to assist with software testing or simple annotation tasks.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills are required.
• The appointment requires on-site work at The Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI/ML, augmented reality or virtual reality, medical imaging, or surgical technology.
• Familiarity with Python or frontend frameworks such as Vue.js and JavaScript.
• Experience in academic writing, literature reviews, or research data management.
