Principal Machine Learning Engineer (Platform Integrity)

Location: Bellevue, Los Angeles, New York, Palo Alto, San Francisco, or Seattle, United States. Office attendance is expected 4+ days per week under hirify.global's default-together policy.

Base salary: $235,000–$414,000 annually depending on US pay zone. The position is also eligible for RSUs.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and scale machine learning models and systems that detect harmful content and bad actors.
• Support effective content moderation, content quality, a healthy content ecosystem, and regulatory compliance.
• Set machine learning strategies with cross-functional teams and align solutions with company objectives.
• Improve the ML technology stack, model performance, availability, scalability, operational excellence, and cost management.
• Evaluate product requirements and technical trade-offs across teams while delivering scalable solutions.
• Provide technical direction and mentorship across the machine learning community.

Requirements

• 9+ years of post-Bachelor's machine learning experience, or equivalent experience with a Master's or PhD.
• At least 2 years of technical leadership or domain-expert experience.
• Experience developing, training, optimizing, and shipping performant, scalable machine learning models.
• Strong knowledge of machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, natural language processing, LLMs, and VLMs.
• Experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, or related deep learning frameworks.
• Excellent programming, software design, problem-solving, collaboration, and mentorship skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in online safety, Trust and Safety, Content Moderation, or Content Quality.
• Experience developing multimodal models and LLMs/VLMs for harmful-content and bad-actor detection.
• Advanced degree in machine learning, computer vision, NLP, mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience partnering with executives across globally distributed organizations and contributing to AI publications.
