Applied Scientist (Machine Learning)

Location: San Francisco, California, United States

Base salary: $171,600–$222,200 USD per year, plus potential sign-on payments and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Build machine learning products that improve content understanding and help creators and viewers discover and grow communities.
• Propose, design, and lead high-impact applied machine learning projects based on customer and business problems.
• Choose between classical machine learning and state-of-the-art approaches for different use cases.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to prototype and deploy models into data pipelines and machine learning services.
• Experiment with large language models, computer vision, inference, and model evaluation techniques.

Requirements

• Degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, physics, engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of applied machine learning experience with a bachelor's degree, 3+ years with a master's degree, or 1+ year with a PhD.
• Experience evaluating large language models and owning projects involving multiple scientists and engineers.
• Experience collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Expertise in Python, SQL, modern open-source machine learning libraries such as PyTorch or TensorFlow, and AWS or similar cloud services.

Nice to have

• PhD specializing in machine learning.
• Experience with computer vision, large language model inference, or content understanding.
• Experience in go-to-market, content, or creator organizations.
