Facilities Engineer – Electrical and Controls

Location: Onsite at the Pearl River, New York, United States site. Day-shift work with occasional after-hours or weekend support, onsite presence in laboratories and mechanical/electrical rooms, and periodic travel. Permanent U.S. work authorization is required.

Annual base salary: $88,500–$147,500, plus eligibility for a 10% bonus target.

What you will do

• Provide engineering oversight and technical guidance for facility electrical and controls systems in regulated laboratory and office environments.
• Oversee engineering firms and contractors working on power distribution, building systems, critical utilities, and facility controls.
• Support operations, maintenance programs, and capital projects involving primary and backup power, BMS, EMS, security, fire alarms, and critical utility control systems.
• Contribute to near- and long-term capital planning, budgeting, project execution, risk management, EHS, business continuity, and compliance activities.
• Collaborate with Digital and Business Technology teams on facility automation and systems support.
• Drive continuous improvement and knowledge sharing across the Facilities/GWE organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of experience, associate’s degree with 6 years of experience, or high school diploma/equivalent with 8 years of relevant experience.
• Strong experience in facility operations, maintenance, and projects, including electrical systems for HVAC and other facility equipment.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, NFPA codes and standards, electrical safety, hazard recognition, lockout/tagout concepts, and contractor safety oversight.
• Experience reading and reviewing electrical drawings, plans, and specifications and communicating technical requirements to contractors and engineering vendors.
• Experience with BMS or automation platforms such as Honeywell, plus working knowledge of PLCs, control systems, and smart/IoT building technologies.
• Demonstrated project coordination, planning, stakeholder management, teamwork, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in pharmaceutical, laboratory, or other regulated facility environments.
• Project management experience and familiarity with CMMS/EAM systems.
