Senior CIAM Engineer (Auth0 & Okta)

Location: United States Work at Home; home internet must use cable broadband or fiber optic service with at least 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.

Annual salary: $124,600–$207,600, depending on experience and geographic location; eligible for an annual bonus plan.

What you will do

• Design, build, and support secure CIAM integrations with Auth0 and Okta for application teams.
• Lead application onboarding covering SSO, MFA, federation, customer registration, and identity journeys.
• Build and manage identity infrastructure with Terraform, GitHub, GitOps, CI/CD, and reusable automation modules.
• Implement passwordless authentication with passkeys, FIDO2, and WebAuthn, including authentication policies and adaptive access controls.
• Develop federation solutions using OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, SCIM, and JWT, and troubleshoot complex authentication and authorization issues.
• Define identity standards, reference architectures, engineering practices, documentation, monitoring, self-service capabilities, and scalable modernization initiatives.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience implementing and supporting enterprise-scale Okta and/or Auth0 platforms.
• Strong knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, SCIM, federation, and SSO.
• Experience implementing and supporting MFA, passwordless authentication, customer registration, and account recovery journeys.
• Strong understanding of passkeys, FIDO2/WebAuthn, device-based authentication, and risk-based authentication.
• Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code with Terraform.
• Strong experience with GitHub, including Git workflows, pull requests, and code reviews.
• Experience with GitOps deployment models and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with monitoring and operational tools such as Splunk, ServiceNow, Jira, or similar platforms.

Nice to have

• Experience with Policy as Code and governance automation.
• Experience supporting customer identity platforms in regulated environments.
• Experience building self-service tools for developers and application onboarding.
