Senior Lead Software Engineer (Java/Azure)

What you will do

• Lead the end-to-end design, development, testing, deployment, and support of enterprise-grade full-stack applications.
• Define architecture and engineering standards for Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, React, and Azure platforms.
• Build secure backend services, responsive user interfaces, and integrations with financial systems and third-party providers.
• Drive cloud-native engineering, CI/CD automation, infrastructure as code, automated testing, observability, and secure software delivery.
• Lead design reviews, code reviews, performance tuning, incident response, root-cause analysis, and production-readiness assessments.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with product, architecture, cybersecurity, risk, compliance, infrastructure, data, and operations teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including leadership of complex enterprise application delivery.
• Advanced Java and Spring Boot experience with microservices, REST APIs, security, concurrency, error handling, and performance optimization.
• Hands-on React, JavaScript or TypeScript, responsive interface, state management, and frontend testing experience.
• Strong Microsoft Azure experience, including secure architecture, deployment, monitoring, and operational support.
• Experience with relational databases, SQL, event-driven architecture, messaging, distributed systems, authentication, encryption, CI/CD, Docker, Terraform or Bicep, and Azure services.

Nice to have

• Experience with domain-driven design, test-driven development, contract testing, feature flags, canary or blue-green deployments, and site reliability engineering.
• Knowledge of financial controls, audit trails, data protection, operational resilience, and change governance.
• Banking, payments, or wealth management experience.
• Experience modernizing legacy applications and migrating workloads to cloud-native architectures.
• Azure, Java, architecture, security, or agile delivery certifications.
