TL;DR
Manager, Technical Engineering (Python/JavaScript/SQL/AI): Leading a technical customer experience engineering team by debugging code, APIs, and architecture, building internal tools, and improving support operations with an accent on team development, escalation management, and operational analytics. Focus on building AI-assisted automation prototypes, solving complex technical escalations, and partnering with Product and Engineering on defects, releases, and system improvements.
Location: Heredia, Costa Rica. Overnight shift: 2:00 AM–10:00 AM.

What you will do
- Lead hands-on technical troubleshooting at the code, API, and architecture levels.
- Write Python, JavaScript, and SQL scripts and internal tools to reduce manual work.
- Lead, mentor, and develop technical representatives and specialists through 1:1s, huddles, and development plans.
- Manage queue health, staffing alignment, workflow documentation, team performance, and resolution quality.
- Resolve critical escalations, maintain technical contact with Engineering, and track defects and enhancements in Jira.
- Build Looker and SQL dashboards, identify automation opportunities, and develop AI-assisted tools such as auto-tagging, drafting, and summarization workflows.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering, technical support engineering, SRE, or DevOps-adjacent roles.
- 1–2+ years of people management or team-lead experience.
- Practical coding proficiency in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, and SQL, with the ability to debug code and evaluate system architecture.
- Strong knowledge of APIs, webhooks, logs, data pipelines, root-cause analysis, and technical operational metrics.
- Experience with Zendesk, Jira, Looker, or SQL-based dashboards and AI-assisted tools.
- Fluency in Spanish, French, and English is required.
Nice to have
- Experience building or piloting LLM drafting, auto-tagging, summarization, or similar automation workflows.
- Experience evaluating LLM and API tooling for feasibility and cost.
