Strategic Sourcing Specialist (Supply Chain)

Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States; field work in a construction environment and some in-state travel may be required.

Salary: $78,640–$98,300 per year, based on skills, experience, and education.

What you will do

• Develop and improve strategic procurement processes, procedures, and purchase requisition workflows.
• Coordinate inventory optimization plans, analyze usage trends, and optimize critical spare parts quantities to reduce stockouts.
• Analyze strategic commodity groups, market conditions, cost indices, and historical spend to identify pricing opportunities.
• Lead RFQ processes and coordinate strategic alliances and term blanket activities, including specifications, terms, schedules, and performance metrics.
• Manage supplier relationships and contracts, evaluate supplier performance, and resolve issues.
• Monitor procurement budgets, support purchasing activities, and provide training and guidance to purchasing team members and customers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field, or additional qualifying experience in lieu of the degree.
• At least five years of direct experience in materials management, procurement, or inventory management, including leading cross-functional teams.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
• Ability to work in Albuquerque and perform field work in a construction environment, with some in-state travel.

Nice to have

• Department-level budget management or budget coordination experience.
• Knowledge of materials used in the utility industry.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Maximo, or Oracle.
• MBA.
