Manager, Quality Assurance (Cosmetics)

Location: Remote; candidates located in the Los Angeles, CA area are preferred for periodic site visits.

Salary: $90,000–$115,000 annual base salary, depending on experience, plus bonus eligibility.

What you will do

• Oversee the quality management system, SOPs, document control, change management, quality records, training, audits, inspections, and quality KPI reporting.
• Lead product testing for new launches, including stability, compatibility, packaging validation, AQL inspections, and production surveillance.
• Manage production release, quality gates, line trials, third-party inspections, sampling plans, quality holds, retained samples, and launch readiness.
• Validate packaging design, functionality, materials, manufacturability, and testing such as drop, leakage, transit, and seal-integrity tests.
• Manage supplier qualification, audits, performance metrics, corrective actions, licensor compliance, and technical transfers.
• Lead non-conformance investigations, CAPA, complaints and adverse-event reviews, trend analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, or a related scientific field, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of quality assurance experience in cosmetics, OTC, or medical-device environments, with knowledge of FDA requirements.
• Strong experience with technical packaging validation, product testing, QMS processes, supplier quality, audits, and compliance management.
• Experience with non-conformance investigations, CAPA, root-cause analysis, complaints, trending, and adverse-event reporting.
• Experience with ERP systems and cross-functional project management; NetSuite experience is helpful.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, communication, problem-solving, and ability to translate quality and regulatory requirements into actionable guidance.

• Regulatory affairs experience.
• NetSuite, Greenlight Guru, or intelligence-platform experience, including dashboard and KPI reporting.
