Head of People

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco or New York, United States

Salary: $250,000–$295,000 annual cash compensation, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Develop and execute a People strategy aligned with company goals and values.
• Lead recruiting, onboarding, compensation, benefits, employee experience, performance management, and talent development.
• Own compensation, benefits, leveling, feedback, review, and promotion frameworks.
• Build learning, development, leadership coaching, and manager support programs.
• Advise leadership on organizational design, workforce planning, succession planning, and talent strategy.
• Develop People systems, policies, analytics, compliance practices, and a high-performing People team.

Requirements

• 8+ years of progressive People or HR experience with broad functional expertise.
• Experience across benefits, compensation, leveling, performance cycles, learning and development, employee experience, onboarding, and recruiting.
• Required startup or growth-stage experience.
• Ability to influence and advise executive leadership, with strong communication, coaching, and analytical skills.
• Resourceful, hands-on leadership style with the ability to delegate and build effective teams.
• Experience applying data to People decisions and understanding employment law and compliance.

Nice to have

• Experience building a People team from scratch.
• Familiarity with engineering, product, business, and other company-building disciplines.
• Knowledge of employment law and compliance across hiring regions.
