Senior II/ Staff Robotics Platform Evaluation Engineer (Robotics)

Location: Cambridge, MA, USA; office-based lab role.

Expected base salary: $136,800–$217,866 USD per year, with bonus potential and early-stage equity.

What you will do

• Lead and mentor 2–3 Robotics Platform Evaluation Engineers while remaining hands-on in the lab.
• Define the evaluation methodology, roadmap, shared tooling, and platform-testing priorities.
• Commission robotics platforms from unboxing through integration with software and infrastructure.
• Run comparable test suites covering navigation, manipulation, pick-and-place, perception, and controls.
• Integrate robots with ROS2 and Nav2, adapting drivers, configurations, and interfaces.
• Use Isaac Sim to validate arm reachability and AMR maneuverability against lab environments before hardware testing.

Requirements

• Professional experience deploying robotics platforms in production, commercial, or applied R&D environments.
• Experience leading or mentoring engineers on a hands-on robotics or hardware team.
• Hands-on ROS2 and Nav2 experience in real deployments.
• Experience with manipulation, pick-and-place, motion planning, grasp execution, and controls for robotic arms or mobile bases.
• Direct experience with AMRs/AGVs, 6–7 DoF arms, grippers, and calibrated camera or lidar perception pipelines.
• Experience with Isaac Sim or an equivalent simulation platform, plus building evaluation frameworks and decision-ready comparisons from scratch.

Nice to have

• Experience evaluating multiple robotics platforms or vendors head to head.
• Experience with mobile manipulators and standardized robot-testing tooling.
• Background in industrial, warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing automation.
