Head of ML & MLOps Engineering (Fintech)

What you will do

• Build and lead the ML and MLOps function, including hiring the initial team.
• Develop a state-of-the-art ML platform for decisioning services.
• Establish model-development standards, validation methodology, and ownership boundaries with data engineering.
• Drive credit and decisioning models with measurable monetary outcomes.
• Implement production serving, monitoring, reproducibility, retraining, and agent orchestration with guardrails, evaluations, and observability.
• Manage compute budget, headcount, and return on investment for the function.

Requirements

• Leadership experience building and leading an ML team from zero.
• Experience across the full ML lifecycle, including development, validation, deployment, monitoring, and retraining.
• Experience with credit scoring, underwriting, or comparable high-stakes machine learning.
• Knowledge of model-risk management and responsible-AI governance.
• Hands-on understanding of models, pipelines, and serving layers.
• Fluent English at B2+ level.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of CCD2, consumer-credit regulation, DORA/ICT risk, or IFRS 9 implications for model outputs.
• Experience with fraud-detection ML.
• Experience with Databricks or Spark.
