Senior Analytics Engineer (Databricks)

Location: Fully remote, based in Gent, Belgium

What you will do

• Build robust dbt models on Databricks that transform raw data into clean, conformed, analytics-ready datasets.
• Define KPI logic and maintain reliable, tested, documented, and performant semantic and presentation layers.
• Explore and onboard new data domains, including marketing attribution, product usage, customer care, and subscription data.
• Investigate data quality issues, validate assumptions, and collaborate with the Data Management team to resolve problems at source.
• Translate analytical needs into engineering tasks and support reporting and self-service analytics.
• Contribute to data governance through naming conventions, lineage documentation, and model cataloguing.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a related data role.
• Strong hands-on proficiency with dbt and experience with Databricks or a comparable cloud data platform.
• Solid knowledge of dimensional modelling, data vault, or similar data warehousing patterns.
• Advanced SQL skills, including complex transformations, window functions, and query optimisation.
• Ability to work autonomously across unfamiliar data domains, identify anomalies, and validate logic end to end.
• Strong communication skills for working with business stakeholders and explaining data concepts.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with SaaS go-to-market tooling and metrics such as Amplitude or HubSpot.
• Experience with Python for data transformation or pipeline orchestration.
• Exposure to Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or other BI and visualisation layers.
• Experience in a multi-brand or portfolio company, consulting, or contractor environment.
